Ohara Ikebana Exhibit September 25-26, 2010
The Embassy of Japan was pleased to host the Ohara School of Ikebana for "Hi Shajitsu O Ikeru."
The newly appointed Ambassador of Japan to Canada, Kaoru Ishikawa, was in attendance and made opening remarks at the event. He referred to the event's theme "Hi Shajitsu O Ikeru" which means to make floral arrangements with both deep insight for nature and open mindedness and said that he intends to approach his posting as Ambassador with an open mind and build an even stronger bridge between Canada and Japan, particularly through cultural exchanges.
Over 300 people attended the two-day exhibit to admire the beautiful flower arrangements. |
