The significance of Ikebana is asymmetry and balance. Yumiko will demonstrate Ikebana for different occasions, showing the beauty of well balanced asymmetry after a brief explanation of Ikebana history. The audience will see Yumiko's unique and creative approach to Ikebana. In addition to Yumiko's 160 classes and special theme workshops every year at  her Sakura Studio, she has been doing demonstrations and installations at the National Gallery of Canada, the Rideau Club, Library and Archives Canada, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and the University of Ottawa etc.
