A total of 71 young karate-ka between the ages of 6 and 14 participated from 8 dojos and clubs in Ontario and Québec. Organized by local Dojo, JKA Migenkan for the second time, this event’s participation doubled compared to the previous year.

At the opening ceremony, Counsellor Futagi from the Embassy of Japan gave remarks of encouragement to all the participants. From white to brown belts, there were matches of kata and kumite for each category along with team kata performances. Young karate-ka were able to show the results of their practice and the audience devotedly cheered on their vibrant matches.
