2021 Spring Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals

On April 29th, 2021, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2021　Spring Conferment of Decorations on Foreign Nationals. These decorations are conferred to foreign nationals who made significant contributions to the promotion of friendly relations and mutual understanding with Japan. Among the 117 recipients this spring, the three Canadians below will receive decorations.
 

-Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold Rays with Rosette
-Dr. Jacob Kovalio
-Associate Professor of the Department of History of Carleton University
-Address: Ottawa, Ontario
-Summary of Contributions: Contributed to promoting Japanese Studies in Canada and mutual understanding between Japan and Canada

 

-Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
-Ms. Suzanne Ethier
-Former Delegate General of Québec in Tokyo
-Address: Boucherville, Québec
-Summary of Contributions: Contributed to promoting interregional exchanges and mutual understanding between Japan and Canada

 

-Decoration: The Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays
-Mr. Wan Tat Kong
-Great Master of China Cooking Culture
-Address: Hong Kong, China
-Summary of Contributions: Contributed to promoting Japanese food in China
