Ambassador Kawamura’s Visit to Toronto, Ontario Province (March 9 to 10, 2022)

Ambassador KAWAMURA Yasuhisa visited Toronto on March 9-10, and together with Consul General SASAYAMA Takuya, met with the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, Her Honour The Honourable Elizabeth Dowdeswell, the Premier of Ontario, The Honourable Doug Ford, and the Speaker of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario, The Honourable Ted Arnott in person, to discuss Canada-Japan relations and other issues.

During the meeting with Premier Ford on March 10, they exchanged views on various issues in Ontario, including transportation, hydrogen, and urban infrastructure building, and Ambassador Kawamura asked for support for Japanese companies' activities in Ontario.

Ambassador and Consul General also exchanged views on a wide range of topics with Lieutenant Governor Dowdeswell and Speaker Arnott, including the future development of Ontario-Japan relations and international issues, and deepened their relations.
