Ambassador Yamanouchi’s Participation to Anime Ottawa’s Opening Ceremony

On March 29, Ambassador YAMANOUCHI Kanji attended the opening ceremony for Anime Ottawa, the first edition of a new annual convention celebrating anime, manga, video games and other aspects of Japanese popular culture.
 
Ottawa-based Japanese drum team Oto-Wa Taiko launched the opening ceremony with a spectacular performance. Following the performance, AAmbassador Yamanouchi gave remarks and mentioned the increasingly close bilateral relations between Japan and Canada and the importance of  cultural exchange in strengthening the relationship at a grassroots level. Japanese anime song pop duo angela participated in this opening ceremony as one of the special guests.
 
Following the opening ceremony, Ambassador Yamanouchi cut the ribbon to officially open the event.

Anime Ottawa attracted over 9,000 guests during its 3-day run. The next edition is expected to take place April 18-20, 2025.
