2022/9/18
On September 17th and 18th, the Ottawa Bonsai Society co-hosted the Bonsai Expo 2022 with the Embassy of Japan at its Information and Culture Centre.

At the opening ceremony on September 17th, Ambassador Yamanouchi Kanji mentioned that bonsai is popular in nature-rich countries like Japan and Canada and said that art and culture is a great bridge between people. The Ambassador thanked the Ottawa Bonsai Society for making important contributions to strengthening the bilateral cultural relationship. Mr. Vianney Leduc, President of the Ottawa Bonsai Society, expressed his gratitude for the Embassy’s efforts to help develop the Society, including the organization of the exhibition.

After being cancelled twice because of the COVID-19 pandemic, approximately 700 people attended the event and took time to appreciate about 40 beautiful bonsai trees.
