Ottawa Bonsai Society - Bonsai Expo 2023

2023/9/24
On September 23 and 24, the Ottawa Bonsai Society (OBS) held its annual exhibition at the Information and Culture Centre of the Embassy of Japan. OBS was established in 1984 and they have over 100 members now.

At the opening ceremony on September 23rd, Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi thanked OBS for contributing to promote Japanese culture and a bridge between Japan and Canada.
Mr. Vianney Leduc, President of the Ottawa Bonsai Society, expressed his gratitude for the Embassy’s efforts to help develop the Society over the years.

This is their 18th exhibition at the Embassy and about 1,000 people visited for 2 days and appreciated nearly 40 beautiful bonsai trees including some which are 100 years old.
On both days, demonstrations were held to offer an opportunity to show the pruning and wiring of a bonsai tree, and captured the attention of the visitors.
