Reception on the Occasion of the JAMSNET World Conference

On May 8, the Embassy of Japan in Canada hosted a reception at the Ambassador’s residence on the occasion of the 13th JAMSNET (the Japanese Medical Support Netowrk) World Conference. Approximately 60 participants attended, including JAMSNET affiliates, members of the Ottawa Japanese Community Association (OJCA), Japanese residents, and local healthcare professionals.
In his opening remarks, Chargé d’Affaires ad interim Ishii stated that JAMSNET’s steadfast and dedicated efforts deserve high praise not only for supporting the Japanese community but also as a typical model of medical collaboration within the international community. He added that the Embassy remains committed to working with JAMSNET to help ensure that Japanese nationals can live abroad with peace of mind.
This was followed by remarks from Mr. Kiyoshi Dembo, Chair of JAMSNET-Canada, and Mr. Alex Okuda, Vice President of OJCA.
Subsequently, Ms. Akiko Fuchisawa, Board Member of JAMSNET-Canada, delivered a presentation introducing the organization’s activities, explaining how JAMSNET-Canada provides medical support to Japanese and Nikkei Communities in Canada through ongoing information exchange among its members.
At the reception that followed, Japanese cuisine prepared by Chef Hamana of the Embassy of Japan in Canada, was served. The participants deepened their connections, making it a meaningful and productive occasion.
