Reception with the Japan-Canada Chambers Council

On September 20, Ambassador Yamanouchi Kanji hosted a reception at his official residence to promote friendship among the members of the Japan-Canada Chambers Council, the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group and the Government of Canada, to strengthen Japan-Canada economic relations.
At the reception, Ambassador Yamanouchi delivered remarks, followed by speeches by the Honorable Joyce Murray, Minister of Fisheries, Oceans and the Canadian Coast Guard; Mr. Tatsuo Yasunaga, Japan-Chair, Japan-Canada Chambers Council (Chair of the Board of Directors, Mitsui & Co., Ltd.); the Honorable Perrin Beatty, President and CEO, Canadian Chamber of Commerce; Mr. Gord Johns, member of the Executive Committee of the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group and Member of Parliament of Canada; and H.E. Mr. Ian G. McKay, Ambassador of Canada to Japan made a toast.
The reception was held in conjunction with the 6th Joint Meeting of the Japan-Canada Chambers Council (September 19, in Toronto) and the attendees deepened their friendship in a relaxed atmosphere.
