JET 2022 Farewell Reception

On July 8th, Ambassador YAMANOUCHI Kanji hosted a Farewell Reception for this year’s Japan Exchange and Teaching (JET) Programme participants at his residence with infection prevention measures. Twelve JET Programme participants who will depart from Ottawa for Japan, as well as guests from the JET Alumni Association (JETAA) Ottawa and Global Affairs Canada attended the reception.

Ambassador Yamanouchi began the event with opening remarks, congratulating the new JET Programme participants for their selection, and expressing his hope that they will develop a lifelong relationship with Japan and participate in furthering Japan-Canada relations.

Mr. Shuaib Syed, president of JETAA Ottawa, wished the new JET Programme participants many exciting new adventures in their future and his hope that they will continue to strengthen Canada-Japan ties after their return. On behalf of the departing JET Programme participants, Ms. Amanda Azzi spoke of the unique opportunity to connect with Japanese communities and showcase multi-cultural Canada, and expressed gratitude to her friends and family for their support.
