On Saturday, October 15
th and Sunday, October 16
th, at the Information and Culture Centre of the Embassy of Japan, the Ohara School of Ikebana Ottawa Chapter and the Embassy of Japan were pleased to host the annual Ohara Ikebana Exhibition titled "RENDEZ-VOUS IKEBANA". A total of 22 flower arrangements that convey the gentle and warm texture of beautiful autumn were on display. The exhibition was held in-person for the first time in three years and more than 400 visitors attended the event over the weekend.
At the opening ceremony held on the first day of the exhibition, Ambassador Kanji Yamanouchi gave remarks and spoke about the role of ikebana in the close relationship between Japan and Canada. Ms. Wendy Batson, President of the Ohara School of Ikebana Ottawa Chapter, expressed her joy at holding an in-person exhibition for the first time in three years.
