Ikebana International Ottawa Centennial Chapter Exhibition 2018 – Patterns in Nature

On April 4, the Ikebana International Ottawa Centennial Chapter and the Canadian Museum of Nature held the opening ceremony for their 2018 ikebana exhibition titled Patterns in Nature at the Museum.
 
In attendance were Mrs. Kaoru Ishikane, the Honorary President of the Ottawa Chapter and spouse of Ambassador Kimihiro Ishikane, as well as Minister Yasunari Morino of the Embassy of Japan on behalf of Ambassador Ishikane who was on a business trip, and Mrs. Nancy Sharp, President of the Ottawa Chapter of Ikebana International. Also present were Mrs. Margaret Beckel, President and CEO of the Canadian Museum of Nature, Mrs. Wendy Batson, and Mrs. Anne Breau, Exhibition Co-Chairs. In his opening remarks, Minister Morino thanked the organizers for their work on the exhibition. He also expressed his appreciation that so many people love and admire the art of Japanese flower arrangement. The exhibition was declared open by Mrs. Ishikane.
 
The opening was attended by many ikebana enthusiasts. Stunningly beautiful art creations embellished the serenity of the exhibition space. The exhibition was open to the public from April 5 - 8.
