Promoting Japanese Culture at the World Multicultural Festival

2024/11/9
On November 9, the Embassy of Japan attended the World Multicultural Festival at the Sir John A. Macdonald Building on Parliament Hill. At the cultural display table, the Embassy provided information about tourism in Japan, Expo 2025 in Osaka and upcoming events at the Embassy. Origami paper was also offered to visitors and many people enjoyed making origami cranes. It was a good opportunity for the visitors to ask questions about Japan and experience Japanese culture in a festive atmosphere.

Over 70 countries were present at the event with guests of honour such a The Honourable Mona Fortier, MP, Mr. Yasir Naqvi, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Health and MP (Both of them belong to the Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group), His Worship Mark Sutcliffe, Mayor of Ottawa, and His Excellence David Cohen, U.S. Ambassador to Canada. Many guests enjoyed the cultural displays, including the Embassy of Japan table, panel discussion and cultural performances.
