Japanese Film Festival

 

On October 24th and 26th, the Embassy of Japan, together with the Canadian Film Institute (CFI) and the Japan Foundation, hosted the 2013 Festival Japan Film Festival at Library and Archives Canada. Approximately 640 people attended the film screening event.

 

At the opening of the film festival, Minister Fumio Yawata referred to the 30 years of cooperation between the Embassy of Japan and CFI and expressed its important role in enhancing understanding between Japan and Canada. Furthermore, he acknowledged the significance of the film festival for its ability to introduce Japanese culture to Canadian audiences.

 

During the two-day festival, four films - “Brave Story” (animated film), “Mitsuko Delivers”, “Always-Sunset on Third Street-3”, and “Robo-G”- were presented.
