Fête Champêtre Garden Party

On June 5th, the Embassy of Japan hosted the 26th Fête Champêtre Garden Party in collaboration with the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra (OSO) at Ambassador’s residence. Guests enjoyed performances by Ms. Ryoko Itabashi on the Tsugaru-shamisen and by OSO string musicians well as Japanese food and sake.

This is the third time the Embassy of Japan has hosted this annual music event. In his opening remarks Ambassador Okuda said it was an honour to help support the OSO as they promote music in education and culture, as well as nurturing the next generation of musical talent.

More than 250 people attended this event to support the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra’s activities,
including the Honourable Mauril Belanger MP, Madeleine Meilleur, Attorney General of Ontario, His Worship Jim Watson, Mayor of the City of Ottawa as well as a number of Ambassadors.
