School Visit to Glebe Collegiate Institute
On June 11th 2015, some of the staff of the Embassy of Japan made a visit to a Grade 11 Law Class at the Glebe Collegiate Institute in Ottawa, Ontario. The talk included Japanese greetings, familiar terms, Japanese festivals, and everyday life. There was also a discussion about how diplomats fit into the legal landscape of their host countries. The students were very interested in the topic, having already discussed aspects of international law. The visit finished with a presentation about Japanese robotics both in terms of pop culture and real-world applications. The students seemed especially captivated during a special visit from PARO, the world’s first therapeutic robot!
