The lecture for participants of “G(irls)20 Bootcamp for Brains Reception” by Ambassador Monji
On June 29th, 2016, Ambassador Monji was pleased to welcome high school girls from across Canada, who took part in the inaugural G(irls)20 Bootcamp for Brains in Ottawa to his residence for a lecture and reception. G(irls)20’s goal is to provide skills, coaching and access to global experts in order to cultivate a new generation of female leaders.
Ambassador Monji began his lecture by covering Japan-Canada relations. He went on to speak about how the soft power can be utilized to promote diplomacy and good relations, recounting his own experiences in Japan’s public diplomacy in various oversea postings. During the question and answer session, Ambassador Monji answered questions asked by the young leaders and advised them to be constantly curious about the world.
Following the question and answer session, participants enjoyed Japanese food in the garden of the residence.
