The 40th Anniversary Party of the Ottawa Japanese Community Association

 

On November 6, a party marking the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the Ottawa Japanese Community Association (OJCA) took place at the Sandy Hill Community Centre in Ottawa.

In her opening remarks, Ms. Sachiko Okuda, President of the OJCA, reflected on past activities over the last 40 years and expressed gratitude to members who were involved in the establishment and operation of the OJCA. Ambassador Monji made a congratulatory address and praised the OJCA’s efforts in sustaining the Japanese and Japanese Canadian community through their various activities. He also expressed that the Embassy looks forward to further cooperation with the OJCA.

At the reception, a live sashimi demonstration was performed along with a raffle. A karaoke singing event also took place. OJCA’s party brought their members and supporters together.
