Book-Prize Ceremony and End-Of-Year Reception at University of Ottawa
On April 13th, 2017, Counsellor Takashi Futagi, Director of Information and Culture Centre of the Embassy of Japan attended the book-prize ceremony and end-of-year reception held at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures, University of Ottawa. Every spring, the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures honours students who have excelled in their studies during the academic year. In the presence of professors and employees of the department, as well as friends and families, prizes are presented by distinguished members of the diplomatic community in Ottawa. Dr. Sufeng Xu, Asian Studies Coordinator announced the three Japanese language award recipients and Counsellor Futagi presented the prizes to Ms. Hafsa Kaouache, Ms. Diana Sverdrup-Yap, and Ms. Xiao Jun Wang for their excellent achievement. In total there are approximately 140 students learning Japanese language this semester (Winter 2016) at the University of Ottawa.
