On September 22, the Embassy of Japan was pleased to co-host with the Canadian Museum of Civilization (CMC) a lecture delivered by distinguished Japanese astronaut, Dr. Mamoru Mohri, Chief Executive Director of the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) at the CMC.
With approximately 270 guests, Dr. Mohri spoke on the roles of the Miraikan, Japanese advanced science and technology, including the discovery of iPS cells, robot developments for senior citizens, deep sea research and space development, and his theory of science through his two missions as an astronaut on the Space Shuttle Endeavour. The lecture included an interactive Q&A session between Dr. Mohri and the audience, and it was a great opportunity for guests to learn about Japan’s advanced science and technology as well as space development.
This lecture was realized thanks to the cooperation of Dr. Mohri, Miraikan, the CMC and many supporters as a part of the commemoration of the 25th Anniversary of Canada-Japan Science and Technology Cooperation, and as a special event of the ongoing Japanese exhibition at the CMC; “Japan: Tradition. Innovation.” |
