Ambassador Monji Arrival Reception

 

The arrival reception of Ambassador Kenjiro Monji was held at the Ambassador’s residence on June 16, 2015, with more than 300 guests attending including politicians, government officials, heads of diplomatic missions, academics, journalists, representatives of cultural groups and members of the Japanese community. 


Guests enjoyed the beautiful weather while sampling sake, sushi and other Japanese delicacies.


In his remarks, Ambassador Monji expressed his delight with his new post as Ambassador of Japan to Canada, sharing his first memories of Canada while he was an exchange student in Syracuse, NY.


Moreover, he reflected on the excellent state of Japan-Canada relations, while expressing his intent to further promote the partnership, particularly in the field of trade, security as well as cultural and educational exchange.
