Ambassador Ishikawa makes a courtesy call to the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons

 

Ambassador Ishikawa made a courtesy call to the Honourable Andrew Scheer, Speaker of the House of Commons, on August 18th to exchange views about the relationship between Japan and Canada.


The Honourable Andrew Scheer was elected as Speaker on June 2nd after the May 2nd federal general election. At 32 years old, he is the youngest Speaker in Canadian history and was elected after defeating six other candidates.


According to the Speaker’s office, this courtesy call was the first one to the Honourable Andrew Scheer from a diplomatic mission in Canada.
