| Canada-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group Welcome Reception
The co-chairs of the Canda-Japan Inter-Parliamentary Group (CJIG) held a welcome reception for Ambassador Ishikawa on Parliament Hill on November 16th. Among those in attendance were CJIG co-chairs Senator David Tkachuk, the Hon. Bryon Wilfert (pictured above), and many other CJIG members.
Both co-chairs' remarks addressed the strength and vitality of the Canada-Japan partnership and emphasized the important role played by the CJIG in maintaining and enhancing that relationship.
Ambassador Ishikawa, referring to the Emperor and Empress's recent audience with Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Mrs. Laureen Harper, and the results of bilateral meetings, made his intention very clear to do his best to nurture the bilateral relations between the two countries. |
