Virtual School Visit Program
2021/5/13
On May 13 the Embassy of Japan hosted a virtual lesson on the topic of Food and Culture as part of its online School Visit Program. Approximately 20 Grade 11 students from South Carleton High School participated in the interactive lecture. Students learned about a wide variety of both traditional and contemporary Japanese foods, including washoku and ramen. Throughout the event there was also a lively Q&A with the students.
The Embassy of Japan’s School Visit Program operates throughout the year and provides many Ottawa students the opportunity to learn about different subjects related to Japan. This program is usually offered in-person either at the Embassy of Japan or in classroom. However, for measures for COVID-19, it has been offered virtually via Zoom – you can find details of the program here.
