Virtual School Visit Program

On June 24 the Embassy of Japan hosted a virtual lecture on the introduction to Japan as part of its online School Visit Program. Approximately 39 Grade 6 students enrolled in John Young Elementary School participated in the interactive lecture. Students learned about many aspects of Japanese society, including geography, popular culture, food, and festivals. Throughout the event there was also a lively Q&A with the students.
The Embassy of Japan’s School Visit Program operates throughout the year and provides many Ottawa students the opportunity to learn about different subjects related to Japan. This program is usually offered in-person either at the Embassy of Japan or in classroom. However, for measures for COVID-19, it has been offered virtually via Zoom – you can find details of the program here.
