Ikebana International Ottawa Centennial Chapter Exhibition – Rhythm in Nature
On March 30th, 2016, at the Canadian Museum of Nature, the Ottawa Chapter of Ikebana International held the opening ceremony for their 2016 exhibition, entitled Rhythm in Nature.
Mrs. Etsuko Monji, the wife of Ambassador Monji and Honorary President of the Ottawa Chapter of Ikebana International, attended the event along with Counsellor Takashi Futagi, Director of the Information and Culture Centre of the Embassy of Japan. Counsellor Futagi addressed the distinguished guests who included: Ms. Margaret Beckel, President and CEO, Canadian Museum of Nature; Ms. Wendy Batson, President of Ikebana International Chapter 120 in Ottawa; Ms. Anne Breau, Exhibition Co-chair.
The opening was attended by many ikebana enthusiasts. They admired the stunning beauty as well as the intricate and unique art forms that were displayed across two floors.
Ambassador Monji and Mrs. Monji visited the exhibition on April 1st with exhibitors offering Ikebana expertise.
The exhibition was open to the public from March 31st to April 3rd.
