Imagine Japan Children’s Art Contest

 

As a part of Ottawa Welcomes the World: Japan Festival, which was held on October 15, Embassy of Japan organized “Imagine Japan Art Contest” for children to draw how they imagine Japan.

The contest was open to children in the Ottawa-Gatineau region, Grades 1 through 12 and there were 244 artworks have been submitted. 39 works were chosen to be displayed at Japan Festival and Ambassador’s Choice Award winners were chosen by Ambassador Monji, and People’s Choice Award winners were chosen by voting by visitors at Japan Festival in each category. At the award giving ceremony at Japan Festival, attending winners received certificates and gift from Ambassador Monji.

Award winning works and selected works will be again displayed at Embassy’s Information and Culture Centre from October 25-26, October 30-November 3, November 6-7. If you missed the opportunity at Japan Festival, please come to the embassy to see Canadian children’s imaginative Japan.
